Why do people use a magnifier?

Dentist, Hygienist and Surgeons work at a short distance from there patients.

This is not because they want to do that. It is mainly because there is no other way to see properly.
Magnifiers prevent you from leaning in and putting stress on your lower back and neck

What magnification is good for me?

Finding the right magnification start with the right posture. Position yourself infront of you chair or table (where ever your primary place of use is).

Measure the distance between your eyes and your hands while in your ideal posture. 
Now measure the same distance when your actually working.

Each profession requires a different magnification.
Dentists and dental hygienists often use 3x or 4x magnification.

Do my eyes get lazy because of my magnifiers?

No, this is not true. If you use your magnifiers for days, months or mabye even years. Off course you feel you have to putt in more effort doing your work. Oppose to wearing magnifiers. This doesnt mean your body or eyes got lazy. They just got used to putting in more effort. Which is Good!

What matters more? A good chair? Or Magnifiers?

A good chair compliments the magnifiers. Without a good chair you are not able to stay in the right posture. 
A to flat of a seat and you cant tilt your hips. Which is important to be able to sit up straight.
To steep of a seat and you will slide down.

Does everybody get neckpain without magnifiers?

Not everybody. It had a lot to do with somebody's leisure activities. Even though we have used our body all day long. The best thing you can do. Is losen up the muscles after work. And maybe even before and while work.
Doing the actual work is not the biggest issue. Not relaxing the muscles after a long day of work wil lead to big neck and back problems. 

Why are magnifiers so expensive?

If we see our magnifiers as just a pair of glasses. We can imagine that they feel like quit an investment. 
We like to look at the magnifiers as an instrument.
An instrument that provides you with better vision, better posture, high quality titanium materials, and the AR coated optics.
All custom made to every clients wishes and needs. 
Work will feel easier and time of work will be pain free.  

Is a higher magnification always better?

No. Bigger magnification, is not always the better solution. Better yet, a higher mag. limits the "Vision of Field" and the "Depth of Field".
Therefor with a higher mag. your muscles have to tense alot more to keep you image still and sharp.

Do you already have magnifying glasses, and would you like to be able to sit/stand closer to your work?

Then we recommend a higher magnification. We recommend that you keep the working distance as best as you can. Sitting closer tells us that you may need some strength or that you need a higher magnification.

I have magnifying glasses but my neck, back and/or shoulders are still bothering me. What to do now?

The standard magnifying glasses helped little or nothing with the improvement of posture. The magnification did enable you to keep your distance. But the Galileo and Prism viewers are mainly functional because of their magnification but do little to change the viewing angle.
The ergo, on the other hand, has a large change in viewing angle. Actually, the ergo is the only magnifying glass that really improves your posture. It is visible, but also tangible. Lighter magnifying glasses with a lower magnification can also lead to an improvement of the complaints.

Where do the magnifying glasses come from?

There are many different viewing systems. The most common viewer is the Dutch one. This viewer has been " discovered " by the Italian, Galileo Galilei. This name is also used in the Admetec Galileo line.
The second viewing solution we use is the Kepler viewer, discovered by the German, Johannes Kepler.
Both inventors lived around the 1600s. They have never met each other but came at the same time with a similar solution for their stargazers.

What is the difference between a Galileo and a Kepler viewer?

The Galileo viewer works with a + and a - lens that directs the light in the right way. By directing the light, a magnified image is created on your eye.
The Kepler system works by delaying the light. By slowing down the light in the viewer. The image is enlarged. This way there is no edge distortion in the image. But it always needs an illumination.
This is less necessary with the Galileo systems. But still strongly recommended.

What is the difference between an ERGO and the other models?

Until a few years ago, we were only able to make the telescopes look straight ahead. Through innovation of new materials and new production method we are now able to direct the light of the Kepler binoculars. Moving the image in space is called Prism.
1 prism means: 1 cm per meter image displacement. The ergo has a 45 degrees prism effect. This is in contrast to the Galileo and Prism binoculars, which both have no prism.

Why do magnifying glasses (almost) always look down?

This is not always the case. But many magnifying glasses are worn on a chair or operating table. This work often takes place underneath you.

Why do you have to get used to (magnifying) glasses?

Any change in our image is noticeable. This can happen with even the smallest change in strength. Magnifying glasses enlarge your image at least 2x. This means that the brain gets used to measuring the new image. Suddenly everything seems to be 2x closer. But your hands are still steering towards the original spot. This creates a mismatch in motor skills.
